About Us

Cookado was formed in 2005 to provide a fun environment for children, young people and adults to learn how to cook simple, tasty recipes, learning the basic skills and techniques which will allow them to prepare a wide range of food with confidence.

Why do we do it? In a society which sends very mixed messages to children and young people about food, and in which accessible role models around healthy eating are in short supply, we launched Cookado to add a practical, positive contribution to the current debate around healthy lifestyles.

How do we do it? Our aim is not to lecture people but to help them learn through enjoyment and we believe the best way to learn is to do it yourself.  The emphasis at Cookado is on fun and to build confidence – we don’t want food to be the enemy.

We aim to show that healthy, tasty food can be cooked simply and without gadgets and gizmos.  The task of persuading people of all ages to give up some of their reliance on processed foods begins with offering tasty, quick alternatives.  We take pride in the fact that our recipes (all of which are devised by Cookado ) reflect this.

We respect your right not to like certain foods, all we ask is that you’re willing to learn how to cook them.  In reality, we have lost count of the number of occasions when ‘I don’t like lemon/garlic/coriander/tomato’ becomes ‘Ooh this is yummyCaroline Price
